- To introduce students to fundamental sculptural techniques and materials.
- To explore various sculpting methods, including carving, modelling, and assembling.
- To develop the ability to conceptualise and execute three-dimensional compositions.
- To provide an understanding of traditional and contemporary sculptural movements.
- To build a cohesive portfolio showcasing technical skills and personal expression.
Materials Required
- Clay (air-dry, polymer, or ceramic)
- Wire (for armatures)
- Wood (blocks and sheets for carving)
- Stone carving tools (chisels, rasps, mallets)
- Sculpting tools (wooden modelling tools, wire loop tools, etc.)
- Sandpaper (various grits)
- Protective gear (dust mask, gloves, safety goggles)
- Adhesives (epoxy, hot glue, etc.)
- Found objects for assemblage (optional)
- Sketchbook for conceptual designs
- Reference images for projects
